A full bodied, deeply coloured, classic Italian red wine.

Bold yet supple, the ‘crushed grapes and skins’ contribute to the big, smoky-earthy nose of ripe cherry that gives way to black pepper, spice, black cherries and a nice tannic finish. Don’t forget that the grape skins are extremely easy to use. The kits come with a cheese cloth bag to contain the skins and it can simply be discarded after primary fermentation. (If you are making ‘on-site’ we’ll look after it)

The concentrated flavours of our Italian Brunello are generous even in youth, but this sensational wine is sensational after six months to a year.

Good acidity makes this a very food friendly wine: like many Italian reds, Brunello shines in the company of assertively flavoured foods. Osso buco and rich tomato pasta dishes are splendid accompaniments, as are hard cheeses such as asiago and Pecorino Romano. Its firm backbone of acids and tannins make it work well with rich and spicy foods like Italian sausages or lasagna.
